Margaret Cutter is a contemporary colorist and impressionist. She has been a professional painter in watercolor and oil for more than thirty years. Receiving her education at the Cleveland Institute of Art, she is a signature member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, a member of the Oil Painters of America, Ohio Plein Air Society and Low Country Plein Air Society. The artist has exhibitied in numerous galleries, museums, and exhibitions.
Whether painting in the studio or on location, she starts with the concept of the image. Each painting is an emotional response to the scene she is portraying. The majority of the paintings do not exist in reality, but rather are composites of places visited and photographed by Margaret Cutter. The goal in each landscape painting is to come as close as possible to the real soul of nature, as she sees it.
